This story is a little bittersweet.
Tiktoker Janeya (@naydaniellexo on Tiktok) posted the before and after renovation of her mom’s garage. Her mom converted her garage into a small apartment because Janeya left a bad relationship and needed a place to go.
In my head, everyone’s mom would do this if they had the means. But reading the comments section made me realize that this is not everyone’s reality.
Janeya shows the garage while it’s empty, then shows the insulation and studs in place. She then shows the paneling and drywall installed in the converted unit. One of the final shots is the room being painted and flooring installed. It looks great!
Starting over is never easy, but at least Janeya had a strong support system in her mom to make the journey a little less harsh.
I was also a little shocked at the support she received in the comments section. Does this mean my faith in humanity is being restored?
